R for ecologists: a participatory primer

Course Description

The course will introduce R as a scientific computing language covering its use in simulation, data manipulation, data analysis, and graphics. Hobbs will provide a general overview of key elements of the language. Thereafter, each student will be responsible for teaching one session on a particular programming topic and developing a worked exercise using ecological concepts and data. The seminar will build a community that will provide an enduring resource for continued learning.
