Timothy Fegel

After completing my undergraduate coursework in geology with an emphasis on mineralogy and environmental geochemistry at Eastern Michigan University, I fled the bad weather and even worse climbing for the wonderful state of Colorado. Arriving with an internship through the USGS, I immediately found my research niche with Dr. Jill Baron working on Loch Vale Watershed Long-Term Research and Monitoring Program. The internship came to a close last fall, but my research here in Rocky Mountain National Park will continue in the GDPE, with Dr. Jill Baron and Dr. Ed Hall as my advisors. As part of the Western Mountain Initiative, I am examining the biogeochemistry of glaciers and rock glaciers in the western United States using a variety of analytical chemistry techniques.
