I am a new PhD candidate working with Matt Wallenstein and Claudia Boot. I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. My primary research interests include arctic biogeochemistry and soil microbial ecology. At CSU I plan to study the release, transport, and processing of dissolved organic materials between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Outside of research I enjoy backpacking, playing violin, and reading classical literature and poetry.
