I am a new master’s student working with LeRoy Poff in the Department of Biology. I am coming to CSU from North Carolina where I obtained a BS at Appalachian State University. As and undergrad I examined the relationship between detritivore diversity and leaf litter breakdown rates in streams across varied land use types. Since graduating from ASU I have continued to work in freshwater ecosystems; studying everything from juvenile salmon survivability in the Pacific Northwest to freshwater mussel propagation and conservation throughout the Southeast. I am primarily interested in the structure and function of communities within stream ecosystems. Working as a member of the EVOTRAC project, I will be studying patterns of benthic macroinvertebrate diversity from the foothills to alpine zones along the front range of Colorado.
