I am a new PhD student joining Alan Knappâ??s lab. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, I obtained my BS in Biology at Central Washington University while specializing in Ecology. After undergrad I participated in a number of research projects taking me from the coniferous forests of the Cascade Mountains to the rain forests of Puerto Rico to the tallgrass prairie in northeastern Kansas. For my dissertation I will be looking for ecological generality in savanna grassland ecosystems. To accomplish this, I will be working at the Konza Prairie Biological Station in northeastern Kansas and at Kruger National Park in South Africa.
